Our 2 Chickens

Strollers are great. They truly are. Lugging around gummy snakes, marbles, wedding rings, wash cloths, and of course dolls.  Aunt Mardi, best gift ever. Now i know, i know, Milo may be the size of Emery’s dolls, but that is no reason to treat her like one. Emery tears around the house with her live baby in her stroller.  Hilarious? of course, but it scares me giggle-less. True story. And why I take out the camera, before removing Milo, ill never know.                                                  stroller1-031stroller3-043stroller2-045

Remember the days Emery used this bumbo? I sure do, it feels like yesterday… oooh snappers, it was yesterday.  She was such a little toot just like Milo.  Big eyed and bobble headed.  Love these girls.  Both growing up so fast.                                     stroller4-035stroller5-036stroller6-047stroller7-052

Tickle bug

“Those who tickle themselves may laugh when they please.”

Levi is Mr. Popular in this crowd of ladies. Slightly jealous? Emery stands at the window waiting for the moment she can run screaming to the top of the stairs and call “daaaaaaadddd?”Milo fusses endlessly while i pace the kitchen, but settles peacefully in Levi’s arms watching “Income Property.”Since when did Mommy’s make second place? Is it the lack of dance moves? Cool T.V shows?Growls? Shoulder rides? One may never know… But one thing is certain. Emery has never laughed so hard as when Levis tickly whiskers taunt her ability to function.  Best dad/husband ever I tell ya.

“Have you ever laughed so hard the tears ran down your leg?”  Childhood quote of a lifetime (thanks Dad!)

Darn Straight

Curly curls litter all four of our heads.  We have a love/hate relationship.  As lovely as they can be, both Levi and I prefer the straight do.

Perched on the bathroom counter Emery often “helps” me get ready. It’s time like these I think of some of the most awful ideas. I had thunk up that I would make my day and tame those crazy curls dancing around Em’s face. She couldn’t stop laughing at herself in the mirror. I realized how fast she is going to grow up.  As entertaining as it was, for now, Emery’s curls will continue to rock my days until she is old enough for makeup.  And that in it self is another blog. Darn straight. straight5-033straight2-006straight3-007straight-005    straight4-024

Ground Play

playground1playground2playground3playground4playground5playground6

We work hard, but we play even harder. Everyone could use a little grounding play and there is no better place to recharge then on the play ground!

Rock-less play grounds happen to be one of the best ideas out there. Its right up there, next to chocolate milk french toast and IKEA’s self closing cabinets. Emery is finally getting to the age where she can truly enjoy the offerings of this fantastic play ground.  I don’t feel near as guilty swinging or sliding with my little Em by my side.

The Best Nest

“I love my house, I love my nest, in all the world my nest is best!”

Sound familiar? It should if you grew up with the most amazing children’s book, “The Best Nest.”  Did you miss out? Well don’t worry, you can buy it on amazon.  *Christmas Idea anyone?*

After a whirlwind of dirty diapers, zombie nights, bumps and bruises i think I'm ready to admit I'm loving my house, my nest, and i think it is better than it has ever been before.  Our two girls are wonderful and have both been troopers as Levi and I figure out how to be parents all over again.

I had Emery at 19, you know, so we have been learning to grow up together. Having Emery brought such happiness into our lives, we didn’t think it could get any better.  Well it did, and now we have Milo. Our little bundle of joy.

Emery is loving being a big sister and has had no problem with the change. I believe she thinks I just got a new dolly.  Its like playing house everyday! A dream come true for not just Emery…

I blame Milos greasy hair on the plethora of kisses. Who couldn’t love that lil’ gingersnap. A very smiley one at that. My favourite is while I'm in the kitchen i can hear Emery “Hi honey! Hi!  Oh honey! Smile!”.  Little Lo just cooes in delight and smiles back. Love it!

Kids are great. We’ve always loved them. But i have to admit, I have some of the most adorable, loveable chicklets ever! …and our nest we have created is truly the best.

Happy Birthday

July2011 (24)July2011 (28)july1July2011 (32)July2011 (40)*Ahem* Mee Mee Mee Mee, La La La la la la la.  Ok, *Ahem*. Here we go.

“Happy Birthday to youuuuu, Happy Birthday to youuuuu, Happy Birthday Mr. Presi…uh…Canada! Happy Birthday to you!”

…your welcome.

julyWe are a stickler on tradition as you can see, with Benson taking the "little yellow motorcycle" pirate style! I do believe I rode it once or twice in my day. Mckaya, 4 wheeled in the parade like the reble she is. To bad we couldn't see her with all that camoflauge. july3

We watched a parade once. It was in Raymond, on our country’s birthday. How marvellous.  It happened to be Emery’s first parade, and she loved every minute of it. Who wouldn’t? Free candy and we’re there!

Busy Bee

june114-018Look at that face. Guilty guilty guilty! I try being a good Mom, really I do. But sometimes I do silly things…like let Emery play with a million tiny beads. It was a proud moment, watching my little lady play with prized crafts of my past. Just as I brought the camera to my eye to snap a picture, I was stuck in a pregnant nightmare. Confetti! It’s a party! Rainbow! Sprinkles! A GIANT MESS!  Have you seen our carpet? Its fluffier than my hair and hides a mess even better.  Holy Hannah. I’m still finding beads to this day. Actually, I see one right now. Darn you pink sparkle bead.  june115-019

Our girl may be a tornado, destroying everything in her path, but she can’t resist a good project.  I cracked open a soda and watched my busy bee work. Ahhh, How refreshing.  Is it bad I find joy in a good punishment?

Emery saved a couple beads for herself. Sneaky twinkie. I found this little set up while Emery was jumping on her couch later in the day. I can now sleep well at night knowing not just my babies are well fed, but Emery’s are as well.
