Hey Mom? You're a Genius.

Have you seen “Princess and the Pop star”?  Emery has, about 200 times.  I have her Grandma Moj to thank for that. Despite the grumbles, we have limited our Barbie intake to about thrice a week. Progress! Healthy Progress!…That is until Levi and I lazed in bed one night and introduced the idea of a Princess pop star birthday party. Mistake? Unhealthy mistake?  Maybe for the clean up crew. Being good parents and all, we did indeed splurge, and tossed Emery into her favourite sparkly fantasy.  After all, every 3 year old deserves laser lights and fog machines at their party.  Thanks to our very own handy Andy, we even had a stage with our toy shelving unit as the base.  A dream come true for Stinky Spaghetti.

Of course, all a newly 3 year old wants to eat is a bucket full of noodles, so I stylishly displayed my best mac-and-cheese bar.  Oh cheesy nudes, how I would love to gain every pound of you.  Nudes and cream puffs. Emery’s happy, and I'm definitely over weight.  Love it!
Ah, good times.  Fell in love with that girl in the wee hours 3 years ago, and here I'm still lovin.  Loving those big chocolate eyes, “shockingly” crazy mop, and that slightly smooshed button nose.  As crazy as being a parent is, the moment when she takes her hand in hers, gives it a squeeze while whispering “Hey mom? You’re the best. You’re a genius.” It’s all worth it.
