We Decorated Once.

I like to make a big deal out of everything. Good or bad, big or small.  It’s ok, you may nod your head in agreement. We dedicated the first weekend of December for lacing every surface with the spirit of Christmas.  You can’t expect us to do it in a day can you?  December20123 (1 of 1)December20124 (1 of 1)December20125 (1 of 1)December20126 (1 of 1)December20127 (1 of 1)December2012 (1 of 1)December20122- (1 of 1)December20128 (1 of 1)December20129 (1 of 1)

Emery is a delectable age to have around when creating our traditions. She may even remember this year’s festivities. Exciting. Painting ornaments, prepping kisses for shortbread, and Christmas movies was only the beginning for this party animal. Sparkles flew, tummy’s ached, and bedtimes were ignored as we welcomed our favourite day of the year. Christmas!

A Coons Age

His name is Nicki.  Levi tried to name him something else, but i forgot. So, obviously it’s Nicki that sticks. Little Nic Nic, our precious snack jar. Surrounded by a glass sweater, topped with Santa, with a belly full of snack mix.  How festive. In the spirit of giving? This fella comes with a matching cake stand, salt and pepper shakers, and much more. All wrapped in their glorious glass sweaters. A Christmas miracle, if you ask me.  December201214 (1 of 1)

Speaking of Christmas miracles, its been a coons age since I last blogged.  In case you didn’t know…

1. Coons Age
Hick Billy slang used to describe a long period of time; roughly 8 and a half years. (the estimated life of a racoon.)

“Well tarnation! I haven't seen Jethro in a coons age.”

Ok ok, so not 8 years, but it was heading that way.

I see Lil’ Nicki smiling at me from the corner of my eye, so forgive me if I’m distracted.  He’s just so dang cheery.  FOCUS!

Christmas is coming, and it deserves a post of its own.  So for now, today, you get our adventures of the past.november2012 (1 of 1)

We welcomed Halloween with a warm helping of snow. Levi was tickled pink to help these girls build their first snow man of the year.  Such characters, these three.

Emery, our fancy pants, wore one of her dress’s pulled straight from the rack of catholic charities. They win first prize when it comes to dress ups.  Milo, our little bug, looked perfectly plump like the lady she is.  Love em’ both.

Don’t you absolutely love this picture of the 3 girls and their grandpa?  I love it as much as my mother’s creepy Halloween decor, and milo finally walking.

Our children are special specimens, lovely to the core. However, their ability to pull faces is painfully shocking.  I love their natural smile. It’s beautiful. Want to know what isn’t beautiful? When they say “cheese!” or pose in any form for the camera.  I see this face way to often for it to be normal.

For Emily

Diet Cola to the right, under the most pathetic bedside lamp.  Feet propped and crossed delicately on a lumpy pillow.  Heart burn doing its thing, and I’m hankering for a baked brie. My blog is being so patient, bless its heart. Pictures loaded, and the only words I  have are for you.

It’s lonely, long days, but I like it that way. For now. A Creative genius, with endless ideas.  A real knack for detail and planning. That’s me. Completely parched of energy to participate with much, and I am beginning to look like a fool. Selfish, odd, or maybe even a snob.  Truth is, I love people, family, and color. Shhh, apparently its a secret.  But for now, for today (or even tomorrow) black and white will do.

You, my lovely, would enjoy my decor. I wish you were here to gawk.  More pictures to come, for those brown eye balls of yours…but let’s trade for your energy please?

A slight picture problem, we all know I have, with albums overflowing with love.  The Giggles, the tears, most often have a camera not far above. I closed my eyes, clicked twice, and the outcome was a delight. Instant picture wall, perfected, in all black and white. With faces always changing, it’s only a matter of days. No, not only one, (or seven) frames will have their new ways. Suddenly with poetic verse, this blog does that here and there. Its odd, strange, and festive, but mine to share.

Just like my picture walls, I’m a tad scattered, but that’s life.  Pinky swear I’ll play catch up with those unforgotten memories.  But for now, for you, this will have to do.  Held over till next time, you will see that we are all well, healthy, and growing up on peanut butter and jam sandwiches. All 5 of us.
