Up Dressed

Maybe I’m a little old fashioned, but I've been finding kids toys these days dreadfully stuffy.  (“these days”? “stuffy”? apparently having two kids automatically makes me 60. Who knew!)  Sure we watch a poopy amount of T.v. but I’ve been making up for it with toy bins full of happiness. Like come on, who wouldn’t look absolutely fabulous in those curls or that shade of purple.  Oh 90’s, you leave me speechless every time.

I am so grateful these dress ups still exist in the mumble jumble of childhood memories. We need more entertainment like this in our lives. New goal: More dress up, pretend, and imagination.

Go team Tolman! Lets take this positivity on an joy ride and take a look at the purple get-up Emery is sporting….Hawt. I can’t imagine where that costume came from.  Smile

dressupdressup2                                  dressup7dressup3dressup4dressup5dressup6oohn-1597Baha!   I guess I'm feeling brave this morning, letting this leak out into the public. My apologies to Emery in advance, but at least I can assure her she will grow out of it….eventually.

Christmas Testing 1,2,3

Well everyone! You can relax.  Emery has tested out Christmas for this year and it has great expectations. Thank you Emery, because I was worried.

\My house is a mess, so I've been known to slightly neglect my children when I play the catch up game. I have yet to win, but on this particular day I decided to tackle the breakfast dishes and bottles.  Yay me.  Emery kept herself busy peaking under a wrapped Christmas gift from her Grandpa and Grandma Tolman. To my surprise she had figured out how to unwrap it in 1 minute flat. Now that’s skill.  People need to hire her for large weddings and such. She will make us millions.

Dolls are a favourite toy of Emery so the discovery of a mini doll crib is going to keep us busy for months…hopefully for years as Milo joins the circus.

Emery came to me asking to take her clothes off so I striped her down and watched her scamper away.  Finding her in the crib pretending to be a baby, was not much of a surprise. She is some kind of crazy.  Of course, we had to let Milo have a turn too.  I’m slightly tempted to sleep train milo in it. Its just her size! A perfect transition into her big crib. (which I have yet to do by the way. I love her sleeping next to us.)

Just for the heck of it I thought I would show off the girls new Christmas decorations.  Every year we tickle them pink, or whatever color they choose, and let them pick out a tree ornament.  This year Emery got her 3rd ornament. I can’ t believe it!

Ferngully

Remember that time we whisked our little family to Fernie for a quick weekend get away? Of course you don’t, because i forgot to blog about it! Shame on me.

Right before Halloween we went to Papa Bissett’s cabin with the `Chris-its` (The Chris and Becky Bissett Family)  Oh how ``dark and mysterious Emery`` loves ``fair and beautiful Hallie”.  They had so much fun together.  Multiple hot tub dips, dust catching, and prettifying. Life of some true ladies.

Fernie holds many memories for our little family, beginning when Levi and I had only been dating for a few months.  I don’t know if it was my parents trying to scare him away, but they invited him for a week skiing trip.  From then on we have trotted on over for new years parties, Christmas, or any free weekend we can muster.  We are so lucky ducky to live so close to beautiful mountains.

Halloweenier

Halloween, what a freak show.  We usually are not the biggest fans. But this year something changed. Maybe it was watching Emery “treat or treat” at the same houses i went to growing up. Or maybe it was the abundance of oh henerys. Meh, either way we made some great memories.

At the first house Emery surprised us all but squealing “treat or treat!” and marching right in. From then on she would yell thank you! and wave her mitten hands, sweetly singing “byyye!”  Ah! Heart melting.  Love that she is finally old enough to enjoy these things.  And love that I get to eat all her candy after she goes to bed.

We began the festivities with a Bissett gang visit and picture.  Not to mention a wee lady bug picnic. Why haven't i seen this video earlier!  And why does everyone know the words except me! Say wha?

What fun cousins with some amazing costumes. Milo stayed behind at my parents and helped hand out candy.  What a dear, pun intended.  halloween1-011

Cousins Taylee and Brigham joined our gang for the treat collecting. Cutest devil and astronaut ever. We love having cousins live close by and can’t wait for more to join our adventures.  (Poytress’, that means you!)

Ok so freaky story coming up peeps.  My niece Mckaya and her friend put a carved pumpkin on their heads, Looking like scare crows. They would move when you reached for candy, or turn their head slowly and watch you walk away. Scariest thing ever. Hated it.  Not cute. Never again.

After all the spooks, picnics, and runny noses we leave this outrageous holiday behind. Christmas, here we come!
